Beach Summer Voice Program 2008

The program runs Wednesday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and includes:

  • Intensive vocal one-on-one training
  • Artistic interpretive coaching sessions
  • Ensemble and choral singing
  • Solfege (Movable Doh), Musicianship and/or Italian Diction instruction
  • Performances in master classes and concerts
  • Supportive, professional and experienced teachers to interact with

Each day will include a variety of classes and lessons. By the end of the week, every singer will have sung in a master class at least once, performed in the daily mini-concerts, taken private lessons and coachings, sung in an ensemble and in a larger choral/opera chorus. The program will conclude with a final performance on Sunday, open to the public. All singers are encouraged to perform solo works, but expectations are geared to the level of the singer.

The program is intended to provide opportunities for learning, in a small group environment. All singers will work together in a positive way, with a group of supportive teachers who are comfortable with both highly trained singers and beginners.

Repertoire

Choral Week Music will be oratorio and songs, and the Opera Week arias, ensembles, and choruses will be by such composers as Handel and Mozart. Repertoire for the ensembles and choruses will be chosen by the staff after the applications are in and acceptance finalized.
